Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA)

DiscoveryBin is working to serve Texas families using Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA).

Texas launched TEFA for the 2026–27 school year. Participating families use the TEFA Marketplace to purchase approved educational products and services from participating vendors.

Current DiscoveryBin status: DiscoveryBin is not yet an approved TEFA vendor. We are working toward participation and will update this page when marketplace access is confirmed.

Using TEFA funds

Only approved expenses and participating vendors can be paid through the TEFA system. For the 2026–27 school year, students who select the homeschool/other educational setting may receive up to $2,000 in TEFA funding. Official Texas guidance says that homeschool/other funding is provided in a single installment.
